The spiritual Law of Compensation, as presented by Bob Proctor in the 11 Forgotten Laws, is about increasing our capacity in every way; our capacity to receive, to attract, and to praise, for example. The first thing we need to understand is that the Law of Compensation is a spiritual law. For instance, being a spiritual law, it doesn't have anything to do with labor laws, medical malpractice or the laws of economics study.
Although the Law of Compensation appears on the surface to have a more practical basis then some of the other 11 Forgotten Laws, it's important to remember that the underlying power is based in the fact that the Law of Compensation is a spiritual law.
Here's an illustration that is given by Bob Proctor and Mary Morrissey in this lesson. Say you sit down at a table with 6 people and a pie that is cut into 6 pieces. If you or anyone else wants a second piece of pie, then someone has to go without. The logical solution seems to be to cut the pie into smaller pieces. When we are working from the Law of Compensation, however the solution is to get a bigger pie!
This solution, even though it seems out of the box, first appears quite practical, and it is. But as you learn more about this you'll see right way that this is a spiritual solution based in spiritual law.
The lesson on the Law of Compensation, unlike some of the other 11 Forgotten Laws, has many aspects to it. Another aspect is the idea of taking responsibility. To blame others, the economy, or God on our circumstances is not only a waste of time, but actually worsens the situation.
Instead we are to take an inventory of how we are not only thinking but operating in the world. We are given three examples of attitudes and actions that block us from success.
Do I expect something for nothing? Do I try to get out of paying a bill or getting someone else to pick up the tab?
Am I cheap? Do I take pleasure in getting the best deal with no thought of the other guy's rights to make a profit?
Do I pay for what I get? Here Bob Proctor gives examples of using this spiritual law in meeting our responsibilities.
The Law of Compensation as a spiritual law has a profundity and depth that can't completely be covered here. Bob and Mary talk about competition vs. creation for instance.
The Law of Compensation also makes it clear that if we want to live a life with freedom but don't strive to change in any way, things will not be any different. But once we have made up our minds to put spiritual law into action, what seemed at first so difficult we then wonder what was stopping us.
I have personally been studying and using the Bob Proctor 11 Forgotten Laws and I've written an extensive review of each one of the 11 Forgotten Laws.
