The Seven Spiritual Law of Success - The Secret Behind The Law of Attraction That Gets Results

The hit DVD "The Secret" teaches the Law of Attraction in a way that is easy to understand and has helped many people to start using this powerful law. But the Law of Attraction is just part of the seven spiritual laws of success - there is more that you need to know about before you can be truly successful.

The secret Law of Attraction is in fact not really a great secret, it has been know about and used for centuries. However, before "The Secret" only a small number of people were aware of it because the knowledge behind the secret has not been widely disseminated.

If you use the Law of Attraction consistently you will be able to attract whatever you desire to you. By following the practices in "The Secret" you will also focus you mind on what you want and this will help you to create ideas that can lead you to your goals.

Just attracting is not enough...

The seven spiritual laws of success tells us that there is more than just sitting in your favourite chair and attracting whatever you want. Just focussing on what you desire won't make it fall into your lap.

You need something else - you need motion. Whatever you want has to come to you and you are going to have to move towards it. If you are in the correct mindset through application of the Law of Attraction you will get there, but you have to be in motion.

How do we create this motion? The answer is simple - through the Law of Cause and Effect. This law has been know to scientists, mystics and philosophers for centuries. The scientific version is "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". In other words if you do something, it will cause an appropriate response.

Combining Cause and Effect with the Law of Attraction

How do these two laws work together? The Law of Cause and Effect means that you have to be taking action in order to create reactions. If you are completely inert nothing will happen. You need to get out of your chair and start taking the actions that you believe are appropriate to your success. Everyone who has achieved great success has done so through taking some sort of action.

The importance of the Law of Attraction is that it can shape the direction of your actions so that they move you towards your goals and desires. The Law of Attraction can also cause the responses to your actions to favour the movement of the things that you want to you.

In order to achieve success you will need to combine the seven spiritual laws of success. Two fundamental principles are important - the Law of Attraction as taught in the hit DVD "The Secret" and the Law of Cause and Effect

13 Other Spiritual Laws - Some Supersede the Law of Attraction

The law of attraction dictates that you attract that which you focus on. But this spiritual law is only one piece of the puzzle. You must take into consideration other, equally important spiritual laws, some of which transcend the law of attraction.

These findings, our interpretation below of 13 basic spiritual laws, are the result of our extensive empirical research. Most of the 13 are directly linked to the law of attraction. We are convinced that these laws affect everyone, just as gravity affects everyone on Earth no matter what their belief in it.

Understanding and capitalizing on all of these spiritual laws will help you live your highest potential and enjoy more peace of mind, satisfaction, happiness, and joy in your life.

1. Law of higher-self/soul influence over personality: Your soul's agenda, spanning multiple lifetimes, supersedes your personality demands if those demands contrast with your soul's intentions. Everyone has a higher-self/soul, yet you must make an effort to get more in touch with it to receive the wisdom and guidance you seek. The information and tools in our Direct Your Destiny e-package will help you become more in touch with yours.

2. Law of subconscious personality domination: The beliefs, fears, and defenses of your subconscious mind rule your life. The graphology tools in our Direct Your Destiny (tm) e-package can help you learn more about your subconscious mind and its hidden beliefs, fears, and defenses.

3. Law of reincarnation: Your soul, not your personality, chooses to incarnate again and again on this planet and elsewhere to learn and love.

4. Law of predestination/personal fate/destiny: All souls choose their major predestined circumstances and events of each incarnation prior to incarnating, even though the current life personality is often not aware of those choices and even if the current life personality doesn't believe in predestination/personal fate/destiny.

No one can cheat their fate. Sometimes fate comes knocking at your door, other times you must make an effort to meet your fate. In the case of the latter, you often meet your destiny by doing or initiating that which feels most natural, for better or worse.

5. Law of karma: Everything you put out (intent, thought, action, etc.) will return to you (in this life, or more likely in a future life) even if you don't believe in karma.

6. Law of dharma: What you must do in this life.

7. Law of projection: You see the world as you are, not as it is.

8. Law of polarity: In this world there will always be opposites such as hot and cold, peace and war, love and hate, wisdom and ignorance, and dark and light.

9. Law of intent: Your true intentions are what drives your free will. Sometimes your conscious intent differs from your unconscious intent, which can cause conflict.

10. Law of as above, so below: Patterns and considerations of comprehensive astrology and numerology charts represent life circumstances and events, they don't "affect" you or "make things happen."

11. Law of asking for assistance: If you want help from others, including spiritual guides, masters, and helpers in other dimensions, you must ask for it.

12. Law of universal order: The universe is ordered and far from being purely chaotic. You see the order every day in the change of seasons, the way cherry trees grow cherries and not pears, and the way planetary motions are predictable. This universal order permeates human existence and allows for accurate interpretation of personal fate through empirical methods involving comprehensive astrological and numerological charting.

13. Law of free will: Each individual has free will to take appropriate action within the confines of their destiny. However, people do what feels most appropriate, what feels right, and our findings indicate that those actions regularly match their personal fate. In other words, much of the action they take and subsequent results match their unique karmic plan (as indicated by comprehensive charting methods), which supports the theory of predestination.

The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success

One of the most interesting discoveries of my life has been the fact that there are, indeed, laws of success which operate in much the same way as scientific laws such as the law of gravity.

It may be difficult at first to really accept that the principles of success are really 'laws' and that if we can reproduce the causes of success, then we can also reproduce the effects. But, if we can take the time to understand and make use of these laws, the results we are seeking are certain to follow. Just as night will most certainly follow day, the results (effects) will flow from the methods (causes) we choose to employ.

There have been some excellent exponents of these principles including Deepak Chopra who wrote the excellent book The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success. In this article, we take a brief look at each of these laws:

Here are the 7 Spiritual Laws of Success ...

Law of Pure Potentiality

"The source of all creation is pure consciousness...pure potentiality seeking expression from the unmanifest to the manifest."

What this law means is that all the success you enjoy will come to you as a result of your connection with the infinite. All your best ideas come from within; and you will be amazed - at first - to discover that the answers will come to you; regularly and reliably, when you learn to ask yourself the right questions.

You need to open your mind to receive what the universe has to offer; and this, of course, is achieved through disciplines such as meditation, prayer and introspection.

Law of Karma (or Cause and Effect)

"Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like mind...what we sow is what we reap."

Your future is made by the actions you take in the present. You are continually creating that future: good or bad; consciously or unconsciously.

This law concerns the reality that, literally, everything you have in your life right now is a product of certain actions you took in the past. So if you want a better, more enriched future, you need to take the necessary actions in the present in order to produce the life you want. Everything you do produces fruit, so commit yourself to continually taking action.

Law of least effort

"Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease...with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease."

Does this sound like it's all too easy? The law sounds a bit like: do nothing and accomplish everything doesn't it? But what is meant by this law is that you don't have to struggle with life; and in fact, the more you struggle, the less efficient you will become.

If you stay connected (meditation, prayer etc) and committed to action (cause and effect) you can simply perform your allotted tasks with joy; and everything you seek will flow effortlessly towards you.

Law of Giving and Receiving

"The universe operates through dynamic exchange...giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe."

Personally, although the law is correctly stated, I think this law is the least-well understood of the laws of success. Perhaps the best articulation of this law can be found in Wallace D Wattles classic, The Science of Getting Rich.

The principle recognizes the fact that things flow toward you as a result of exchange. So if you want to generate wealth, for example, you need to decide what you can give. But in order for that exchange to take place, in the words of Wattles, you must give 'more in use-value than you take in cash-value'.

What a principle - let it sink-in - give more than you receive & the dynamics of the universe will naturally reward you for it.

Law of Intention and desire

"Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment...intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power."

This is what everybody involved in Personal Development actually teaches i.e. goal-setting!. All successful people make use of goals, so you too should model this behaviour.

The business of how to correctly set and achieve a goal is the subject of my article: How to Set and Achieve a Goal. In this article, space does not permit a thorough treatment of the subject, however, here we will recognize that, quite simply, you must have goals because goal-setting works!

Law of Detachment

"In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty...in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning."

What this law means is that whereas you must be committed to your goals, you need not be committed to the methods you will employ to reach them. As Zig Ziglar used to say, you don't change the destination, but you may decide to change the route.

There are, of course, many ways for you to reach your goals; and when you are in alignment with the 7 spiritual laws, you will discover ways you didn't even know existed, ways you didn't understand and therefore could not consider.

It may sound odd, but you (yourself) will change along the road. So don't be rigidly attached to the route. Instead be prepared to change at any moment as the right opportunity presents itself.

Law of Dharma

"Everyone has a purpose in life...a unique or special talent to give to others."

This principle is what Abraham Maslow called 'Self Actualization'; and he also said that very few people achieve it. But 'Self Actualization' - becoming the person you were meant to be - is the very purpose of studying Personal Development, so I do hope you will become interested in finding out more about living the life you were born to live.

Do you think that life holds a purpose for you? I truly hope so! If you do, then you must go and find that purpose and then you must be bold enough to live it - because that's how you will find true success!

Quotations above are taken from The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra.

Spiritual Law - The Law of Compensation - The 6th of the Bob Proctor 11 Forgotten Laws

The spiritual Law of Compensation, as presented by Bob Proctor in the 11 Forgotten Laws, is about increasing our capacity in every way; our capacity to receive, to attract, and to praise, for example. The first thing we need to understand is that the Law of Compensation is a spiritual law. For instance, being a spiritual law, it doesn't have anything to do with labor laws, medical malpractice or the laws of economics study.

Although the Law of Compensation appears on the surface to have a more practical basis then some of the other 11 Forgotten Laws, it's important to remember that the underlying power is based in the fact that the Law of Compensation is a spiritual law.

Here's an illustration that is given by Bob Proctor and Mary Morrissey in this lesson. Say you sit down at a table with 6 people and a pie that is cut into 6 pieces. If you or anyone else wants a second piece of pie, then someone has to go without. The logical solution seems to be to cut the pie into smaller pieces. When we are working from the Law of Compensation, however the solution is to get a bigger pie!

This solution, even though it seems out of the box, first appears quite practical, and it is. But as you learn more about this you'll see right way that this is a spiritual solution based in spiritual law.

The lesson on the Law of Compensation, unlike some of the other 11 Forgotten Laws, has many aspects to it. Another aspect is the idea of taking responsibility. To blame others, the economy, or God on our circumstances is not only a waste of time, but actually worsens the situation.

Instead we are to take an inventory of how we are not only thinking but operating in the world. We are given three examples of attitudes and actions that block us from success.

Do I expect something for nothing? Do I try to get out of paying a bill or getting someone else to pick up the tab?
Am I cheap? Do I take pleasure in getting the best deal with no thought of the other guy's rights to make a profit?
Do I pay for what I get? Here Bob Proctor gives examples of using this spiritual law in meeting our responsibilities.

The Law of Compensation as a spiritual law has a profundity and depth that can't completely be covered here. Bob and Mary talk about competition vs. creation for instance.

The Law of Compensation also makes it clear that if we want to live a life with freedom but don't strive to change in any way, things will not be any different. But once we have made up our minds to put spiritual law into action, what seemed at first so difficult we then wonder what was stopping us.

I have personally been studying and using the Bob Proctor 11 Forgotten Laws and I've written an extensive review of each one of the 11 Forgotten Laws.

If you are looking for more information about these lessons you can find them at Spiritual Law of Compensation as well as a review which includes the pros and cons and an inside look at the free bonus package that comes with the program.

14 Spiritual Laws to Know and Use

If you think the Law of Attraction is all you need to know about spiritual law, think again...

Using spiritual power to change your life and the lives of others depends on knowing Spirit (or being aligned with God/universal intelligence) and applying spiritual laws wisely. Much attention has been paid of late to the Law of Attraction due to huge amounts of publicity around "The Secret", which started as a book, expanded to a DVD, and then became a movie. But there are other spiritual or universal laws that can be studied and applied. The two sets of seven laws that I will describe briefly in this article are probably the best known.

Seven universal laws are attributed to Hermes Trismegistos of ancient Greece. These seven Hermetic laws are quite well known and are generally accepted by many as containing great truths. Other people believe that this is all a bunch of new age hooey; but from my own experience, I believe the truth is indeed there. The best treatment I've seen of the Hermetic laws is by Alan Seale in his book, Soul Mission, Life Vision.

The Seven Universal or Hermetic laws are:

The Law of Mentalism -- Also known as the Law of Mind or the Law of Spirit. The law has two aspects. The first aspect states that everything is mind or spirit. Everything arises out of thought or universal consciousness. Thought creates. The second aspect is that everything exists within the mind of God, and the mind of God exists within everything. This is the core idea of many mystical traditions -- that there is a great unity or oneness with God.

The Law of Correspondence -- This is often stated as "As above, so below. As below, so above." The microcosm level of the human being corresponds to the macrocosm level of the universe. The inner level of objects held in thought corresponds to the outer level of objects in reality.

The Law of Vibration -- Also called the Law of Resonance. This law says that everything is in motion. Matter, energy, thoughts... everything is vibration. This law has two subsidiary laws: the Law of Attraction and the Law of Change. The Law of Attraction says that like attracts like -- i.e., similar vibrations attract or resonate with one another, and dissimilar vibrations repel one another. For example, health thoughts can attract health; wealth thoughts can attract wealth. The Law of Change says that, since everything is in motion, change is constant and to be expected as normal.

The Law of Polarity -- The subsidiary law is the Law of Relativity, which says that everything is relative and nothing exists alone. Everything is relative to other things. The primary law is that everything exists on a spectrum. What are often referred to as polar opposites are the ends of a spectrum but there are points throughout the spectrum which are degrees between the poles or opposite ends.

The Law of Rhythm -- This law says that all of life, and even non-life (such as planets, moons, and stars), exists within an order or pattern or combinations of cycles and patterns.

The Law of Cause and Effect -- Often described as "As you sow, so shall you reap". This law states that in interacting systems, actions or events cause or lead to resulting conditions. Cause precedes effect.

The Law of Gender -- This law is often referred to as "yin and yang", and it has two parts. The first part says that within everything there are masculine and feminine energies... masculine being strong, forceful, and assertive; feminine being contemplative, nurturing, and yielding. The second part is that things come in their own time, and that there is a natural gestation period for things to develop and manifest.

Another famous seven laws are the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success from a book of that same name by Deepak Chopra. For many years, I have used these seven laws as subjects for contemplative meditation, and so am quite familiar with them. His seven laws are:

The Law of Pure Potentiality -- Spirit is pure consciousness; and we human beings are pure consciousness. Pure consciousness is pure potentiality -- the field of all possibilities. The universe is creative and abundant.

The Law of Giving -- This law says that the universe operates through dynamic exchange. Energy and intelligence naturally flows. From the human point of view, giving and receiving are necessary to participate in this dynamic process.

The Law of Cause and Effect -- Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind. Giving love brings love to us in return. Giving money or value produces money or value that returns to us in kind.

The Law of Least Effort -- Effort can get in the way of natural participation in the universe. Natural effort -- that is, effort that is true to one's own nature -- is "least" effort.

The Law of Intention and Desire -- Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment; intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. Intention and desire can lead to action (cause) which will produce an effect. Intention and desire are also themselves thoughts (causes) which can create the intended result if clearly focused (attention) in the present.

The Law of Detachment -- Detachment is giving up the attachment to the result. It is being free to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, and to surrender to the creative intelligence of the universe. It allows the universe at the quantum level to respond and react. It allows creation to happen most freely.

The Law of Purpose in Life -- Everyone has a purpose in life based on a unique gift or special talent. When we use this unique talent in service of others, we experience the glory of our own spirit accomplishing a divine goal and living a dream of the soul.

There are occasional references to other spiritual laws such as the Law of Love, the Law of Abundance, the Law of Growth, and the Law of Giving -- and these may or may not map to the fourteen laws mentioned above. I think they do, but I will leave it to your reasoning (or imagination) to work out how.

Now, the spiritual laws can be (and have been) studied and analyzed for what they mean to us human beings and for their potential consequences. They can and do have many different or subtle interpretations. But the key thing is that the laws have spiritual meaning and also practical usefulness in how they can be applied to benefit us -- both spiritually and materially.

The key is learning how to use the spiritual laws effectively. The laws can be applied singly, but can be used most effectively when taken together or in combination. True spiritual power is when a person knowingly and wisely applies the spiritual laws to produce further insights, spiritual bliss, peace of mind, loving relationships, health, happiness, abundance, and true enjoyment of life.

Spiritual Take-Away:

Learn about the universal or spiritual laws. Get familiar with the laws -- the more you learn about the universal laws, the more you are learning about spirit. The more you know the spiritual laws, the more you can apply them. And the more you can apply all of the laws, the more you will be able to use your spiritual power. Through spiritual power you will: come to know yourself, get closer to spirit, change your beliefs, cause new circumstances through your actions, attract what you want in life, feel peace and bliss, and know the spiritual power that connects you to the Universal.
