I am not an ardent fan of the idea that certain Spiritual Laws can be scientifically proven. However I am certain that the way that we behave in our life and the way we focus our thoughts will lead to specific results. The 9 Universal Laws are a good example of how we can become aware of what is happening in our lives and what actions we can take to influence our life outcomes in a positive way.
Here's an overview of the 9 Universal Laws and how you can apply them in your life.
1. Law of Acceptance
Some people believe that running after happiness and finding inner peace are one and the same. Nothing could be farther from the truth. People can live a difficult life and yet still be at peace in their inner essence. Peace, is the deep seated ability to be happy with who we are and not what we possess. Peace comes from the ability to accept what happens in our life; to refrain from being trapped in regretting our past. Acceptance is about accepting the past and moving forward while being grateful for all the good things we have in life and accepting the challenges along the way. It is ok to look at a situation and learn from it, but we don't need to constantly relive it. We also need to learn to accept those around us. Give others the opportunity to be who they are too.
2. Law of Attraction
Your outlook on life is something you decide for yourself. If you take time each day to focus on the things in your life that are going right and on what you desire to achieve, this will attract other positive people and synchronous situations into your day. Even when things don't seem to be going well for you, maintain your positive attitude.
Creating a mental 'film' of what you want to achieve is important. Visualize with clarity the career, home, relationship, health and the finances that you want. In your mind and in your life behave as if you have already received what you want and feel grateful for receiving what you have asked for. Do not worry about how your goals will happen just know that they are already manifesting themselves into reality. When you think about your goals don't focus on the details of how to make them happen. Focus on the belief that they will happen as this is more important than the how. You obviously have to follow this by action but mind creation comes first.
3. The Law of Non-Resistance:
The Law of Non-Resistance is very simple to understand. Go into your garden and open a faucet - just let the water flow freely on the ground. Watch the water travel and notice it working its way effortlessly towards the lower ground. If it runs into an object it will gently flow around it. That is non-resistance in its simplest form.
When we follow the Law of Non-Resistance we approach a problem by working our way around it. Just like a river flowing towards the ocean, we can flow to our goal without struggling against the realities of life.
As we learn to work in harmony with the Universal Laws, things will also begin to flow more effortlessly in our lives.
We might be resisting life without realizing it but it is important to feel that whatever is happening in our life, it is the perfect place to be. This does not mean that it is where we ultimately want to be. However, it is the right place for us to be at this time in our life. The Law of Non-Resistance is about learning to flow around obstacles until we achieve enough momentum to move or overrun any obstacles in the way.
4. The Law of Compensation
This Law states that what is rightfully ours will eventually come to us. If we are taking action and putting in hard work, and we still don't see the results it could be that we are not applying this Law correctly. The possibilities are out there and there is enough for everyone. Our rightful destiny is to succeed and to live a life of abundance. The key to this is our thinking.
If we look at life situations and see the possibilities around them we will be putting ourselves in a state where we will be compensated for the efforts we put in.
5. The Law of Forgiveness
This Law states that when we are able to forgive others we will be able to forgive ourselves. When we harbor feelings of resentment, hate, anger, intolerance, criticism for others we are poisoning our essence. These emotions will create a prison that will trap us to that person we have negative feelings about. When we forgive others we break the bond that shackles us to this negative energy and we can release new positive energies to work for us. Most people believe that forgiveness can only occur after there is reconciliation. This is not true. Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself. This does not mean that you condone the person's actions if they were negative and it does not mean that you necessarily have to reconcile the relationship. You may actually not want to. But it does mean that you have chosen to forgive the action and move on.
6. The Law of Increase
This states that as you sow so shall you reap; and in increasing numbers. Like the farmer who plants his crop, you must tend and cultivate your seeds - the words and actions you take in life. When you sow with a clear purpose and intention you can expect a greater harvest. You need to be sincere, committed and serious in your intent and purpose. The Law states that whether for good or evil, pure or impure, selfish or selfless, our intent will magnify our actions and results.
7. The Law of Obedience
This focuses on the importance of obeying Universal Laws.
Not following these laws will inhibit or even prevent the manifestation of true success and happiness in our life. It will also lead to unnecessary suffering. Let's say we are not honoring the Law of Non-resistance. We can be sure that we will find a lot of frustrations and obstacles in our life and we will feel as if we are banging our head against a wall - and the wall is winning! The Universal laws will always work in our lives whether we are aware of them or not. If we understand them however, we will be able to integrate them effectively in our lives and create the reality we desire.
8. The Law of Receiving
This states that we attract into life what we give and expect to receive. Giving to others first opens us up to the thought of abundance and eliminates the fear of scarcity.
So we should freely give to others in an unselfish way and in turn, be willing to receive the blessings that come our way through such unselfish giving.
9. The Law of Supply
This Law states that there is always a supply to meet the demands of life. It's like when you are new to exercising. When you first begin to jog you may feel tired and exhausted. You may think you had reached your limit, but once you decide to continue you find the additional energy needed.
Opportunities are always present and we only need to be aware of them and demand them. God has no limitations and no lack of abundance. However, just like if you have money in a bank and you never make a withdrawal, the money will be useless. If we never make a demand for Providence to provide us with what we need we will not be supplied.
Believing there is enough bounty in the Universe will allow us to liberate ourselves from the bondage of a scarcity mentality.
