What is faith and its connection with the Law of Attraction? Faith is an underestimated yet critical quality that successful people practice and what attracts good things to them.
There are three areas to exercise faith in regard to the Law of Attraction:
Faith in Law of Attraction principles
Faith in God/The Universe
Faith in yourself
What is faith? An excellent definition of faith comes from the Bible, in the 11th chapter of the letter to the Hebrews:
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen.
What is faith then, according to these words? Faith is seeing the unseen. However, the unseen can eventually be seen. It's the effects that we see. A example is sound waves that transport music to your radio literally through the air.
So, there is "substance" in the air and we hear the "evidence" every day. This "substance" is under the authority, if you will, of natural laws. Let's look at the connection between faith and the Law of Attraction in these terms.
The Law of Attraction has its foundation in our thoughts. Thought is the greatest force in the universe. Everything has originated in thought; whether thoughts from the Universal Mind/God or human beings. Therefore, thoughts, though "unseen," have "substance" in that we see their effects or "evidence" every second of every day.
Our faith in the physical laws of the universe don't require our generating all sorts of feelings and emotions. These laws and principles simply exist and we accept that. It's an easy step then to realize that our thinking and its relation to the Law of Attraction is nothing more than principles and laws that are at work all the time.
Our "faith" in the Law of Attraction is nothing more than trusting universal laws and principles. It would be helpful if we simply had a trust and assurance that these laws and principles are at work and will be at work on our behalf. Another answer to the question, "what is faith?" is from another translation of the above bible verse that says:
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
The faith we have in Law of Attraction principles is an inner assurance and a heart-felt "conviction" that we have what we desire and hope for.
Much is said in Law of Attraction writings about generating emotion in order to attract more. I propose that often, all we need is a simple trusting calm about the things we are seeking. Do we get excited and emotional if the radio works? We may be grateful that this amazing thing happens, but we don't get excited about it.
Why then, can't we have the same matter-of-fact feeling and conviction that the Law of Attraction principles are at work on our behalf?
Whether you believe in a "personal" god such as the one expressed in the Judeo-Christian tradition, or an impersonal "force," I suggest that the same kind of calm, relaxed faith expressed above can be exercised toward whatever god or force you believe in.
If you have been utilizing Law of Attraction principles for even a short time, you very likely have sensed a "presence" that seems separate from you. From my readings about the Law of Attraction, I continue to observe people describing what seems like a personal force, even from those who only talk about "The Universe" versus those who say "God."
What is faith then for this issue? It's nothing more than simply believing that there is someone or something that is "for you," that desires your happiness and well-being. When you feel overwhelmed or fearful, remember that there is a presence that is not only eternal and all-powerful, but cares for you.
Then, what is faith in yourself all about? It's a process. Remember that the Law of Attraction has been working all your life, whether you knew it or not. Now you do, and you have the opportunity to literally be a creator and manifest your desires.
Celebrate your successful applications of the Law of Attraction. If you have times when you feel like you've "slipped back" into "old ways," NEVER condemn or blame yourself! Be your best fan and encourage yourself.
Have faith in your ability to live out the Law of Attraction. Take steps out of your "comfort zone." Push yourself to seek what brings you joy and passion. The universal principles are your tools and there is a presence that seeks the best for you!
