Today, Al Gore is asking citizens of the world to choose reality and wake up to the unfolding climate crisis. Yes, he's said it before, but apparently some people weren't listening.
Starting at 7 p.m. Central time today in Mexico City, Gore's newly renamed Climate Reality Project will officially kick off. The "24 Hours of Reality" event will last, as you might expect, 24 hours, with a different multimedia presentation every hour at 7 p.m. in one city in every time zone on the planet. The presentations, being given in 13 languages, will highlight regional impacts of climate change, connecting the dots between extreme weather events around the world. The grand finale will be an hour-long presentation by the Goracle himself in New York City, at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Sept. 15.
You can watch the live stream right here when it starts -- and stay tuned for all 24 hours if you're hard-core. 'Til then, this video gives you the gist:
